ABOUT GMAT:
Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is conducted by……….. for admissions in various graduate management programs, including MBA, Master of Accountancy, Master of Finance and others, of business schools. A student is assessed on certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a to a graduate management.
GMAT is conducted multiple times a year and can be taken 5 times in a year but no more than 8 times in total and the attempts must be at least 16 days apart. The score achieved by a candidate stays valid for the next 5 years. The marks are awarded as a student performs in different sections:
Quantitative section: 6-51, in 1 point increments. Time given to answer 31 questions: 62 min
Verbal section: 6-51, in 1 point increments. Time given to answer 65 questions: 65 min
Integrated reasoning section: 1 to 8, in 1 point increments. Time given to answer 30 questions: 30 min
Analytical writing assessment: 0.0 to 6.0, in 0.5 point increments. Time given to answer 30 questions: 30 min
Total score (from quantitative and verbal sections only):200to 800.
ELIGIBILITY:
As of there is no eligibility criteria set by the GMAT conducting body GMAC. However, the universities and colleges have their own eligibility criteria viz;
The candidate must have completed 18 years of age. Here is no upper age limit.
If the candidate falls below age 18, he/she is required to permission in writing from their parents or legal guardian
No official statement regarding educational qualification to appear for GMAT has been announced by GMAC.
Although candidates wishing to enroll for an MBA programme, should possess a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
APPLICATION FORM:
Registration fee for GMAT is $ 275, which would translate to INR 17,000 approximately.
GMAT cancellation fee: 7 days before the test a refund of $80. No refund if cancelled within 7 days of the test. Appointment will not be cancelled within 24 hours of the test.
GMAT Rescheduling fee: 7 days before the test date, a candidate has to pay US$60. Within 7 days of test an amount of US $250 fee has to be paid. Appointment will not be rescheduled within 24 hours of the test.

The availability of GMAT dates depends upon the local test centers.
